HC Deb 04 December 1922 vol 159 c1260W
Sir H. FOREMAN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport whether, if no reduction is made by the underground railway companies of London in their fares, he will consider the advisability of introducing legislation in the coming Session to reduce them, particularly in respect of the statutory charge for distance travelled?

Lieut.-Colonel ASHLEY

In regard to the first part of the question I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Southwark Central (Mr. Gilbert) on the 27th of November, of which I am sending him a copy, and from which it will be seen that the second part of his question does not arise.
