THOMASasked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, seeing that, as a condition of granting self-government to Egypt, it was agreed by His Majesty King Fouad that compensation should be paid to Government officials who may either be 1711W dismissed to make room for Egyptians or who may desire to resign owing to the changed conditions of service, he will state whether the basis of compensation has been approved by the Government; and whether there is any reason for the delay in giving effect to the arrangements?
