§ Mr. HANNONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department why, on the occasion of the recent request for tenders for the supply of railway material to the Danish Government, no translation of the pertinent documents was made when the latter were exhibited at that Department?
§ Sir P. LLOYD-GREAMEIt has been decided, with the concurrence of the Advisory Committee to the Department, that, in the interests of economy, and in view of the cost of the staff involved, the Department should not undertake translations of lengthy specifications, such as those referred to by my hon. Friend. In such cases an estimate of the cost of translating the documents is obtained, and any firm interested can procure a translation on payment of a fee.
