HC Deb 26 April 1922 vol 153 c570W
Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Minister of Labour whether canvassers are employed to place ex-service men who have been trained in the various training centres; and whether he can state how many men have been placed through their representations?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Since 1st September, 1921, canvassers have been appointed for the purpose of finding improvership and other vacancies for ex-service men on the completion of their institutional training. Since their appointment the canvassers have found 2,794 vacancies, and, in addition, 1,350 have been found by other agencies, making a total of 4,144.
