Mr. MACLEANasked the Minister of Labour whether canvassers are employed to place ex-service men who have been trained in the various training centres; and whether he can state how many men have been placed through their representations?
§ Dr. MACNAMARASince 1st September, 1921, canvassers have been appointed for the purpose of finding improvership and other vacancies for ex-service men on the completion of their institutional training. Since their appointment the canvassers have found 2,794 vacancies, and, in addition, 1,350 have been found by other agencies, making a total of 4,144.
