HC Deb 11 April 1922 vol 153 c253W
Mr. SUTTON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has received representations from the National Mineral Water Association on the question of high taxation in that industry; whether he is aware that some 500 firms have recently become bankrupt, throwing some thousands of persons on the unemployment market; and whether he will give consideration to the question at an early date, with a view to reducing taxation on this important industry?

Mr. YOUNG

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer has received the representations mentioned by the hon. Member, but he cannot anticipate the Budget statement.
