HC Deb 11 April 1922 vol 153 c251W
Mr. G. ROBERTS

asked the Postmaster-General whether the decision to ignore the break in the service of Miss Rance, assistant supervisor, London telephone service, will enable her to count for pension a period during which she was not in employment; if so, under what authority the decision was given; and whether, in the interests of fairness to other officers, the decision to allow this lady to reckon the interval between her two periods of service for seniority purposes may be reconsidered?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The decision in question had reference only to seniority, and will not in any way affect the question of Miss Rance's pension, which, under the standing practice, will be based on her continuous service. I see no reason for modifying the decision as regards seniority.
