§ Mr. W. SMITHasked the Minister of Health whether any reply has now been 68W received from the rural district council of the Isle of Wight with respect to a complaint by four householders relating to the housing of the working classes in that district; how long has elapsed since the complaint was forwarded by him to the rural district council for their observations; and what steps has he decided to take in the matter?
§ Sir A. MONDI am informed by the rural district council that they have received a report from their medical officer of health, from which it appears that the enforcement of repairing notices under Section 28 of the Housing Act is being pushed forward as far as it is reasonable to do so, and that inspection of the district under the Housing Act is being carried out regularly. I am instructing an inspector to make a local investigation.
