§ Mr. SHORTTI think there can be no question that daylight saving results in large economies to the nation as a whole; but no attempt has been made officially to estimate the amount since the inquiry of the Summer Time Committee which reported in 1917. Much of the benefit of the Act to the community is of course of a nature that cannot be expressed in terms of statistics.
