Mr. JOHN HOPEasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease occurred at Lumsdaine, Coldingham, Berwickshire, at the end of February, and that, as a result of the Ministry not adopting the recommendation of the local authority to slaughter all the animals, the disease has spread to the adjoining farm of Northfield; and will he now give instructions for the affected animals at both farms to be slaughtered?
