HC Deb 04 April 1922 vol 152 c2051W
Mr. AMMON

asked the Secretary of State for War how many deserters have been advertised for in the "Police Gazette" since the beginning of the War; how many have been apprehended by the civil police; and what amount has been paid in rewards?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

This information could only be obtained by searching through the "Police Gazette" and the accounts for the past seven or eight years, and I regret that, owing to the present need for economy, I cannot see my way to authorise the undertaking of this laborious search.
