GRAHAMasked the Secretary for Scotland whether anything is being done to deal with the abnormal delay in the issue of searches and in the return of recorded deeds from the Register of Sasines Edinburgh; and what steps are being taken to place the staff of the Register of Sasines on a basis adequate to meet the great increase in the work of that Department?
Mr. MURRAYI am informed that every endeavour is being made by the staff of the Sasines Office to overcome the delay referred to, which is due mainly to the large increase in the number of writs presented; a scheme for the reorganisation of the staff is under consideration.
