§ Mr. MOSLEYasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Islington Borough Council published, prior to the passing of the Safeguarding of Industries Act, particulars of tenders for arc-lamp carbons, showing that the French price was £14 8s. per 1,000, and the German price £10 15s. 6d. per 1,000; and, seeing that the effect of the flat-rate duty is to impose a heavier charge on French than on German commodities in such cases, will he reconsider the policy of the Government?
§ Sir P. LLOYD-GREAMEI was not aware of the publication of the particulars stated in the first part of this question; the answer to the second part is in the negative.
