§ Sir A. FELLasked the Postmaster-General whether a mistake of £3,500,000 has been discovered in the Post Office Estimates for the current year; and, if so, how this error is accounted for?
§ Mr. KELLAWAYNo, Sir. The Post Office Estimates, which have already been presented to Parliament, provide for an estimated net expenditure of £67,165,287, and I have no reason at present to suppose that this total will be exceeded. It is estimated that there will be a deficiency in revenue on the Commercial Accounts of about £3,500,000. I have announced to-day the proposals of the Government to make this good.
