§ Lieut.-Colonel C0URTH0PEasked the First Commissioner of Works whether the Committee on the Ventilation of the Houses of Parliament, appointed in 1913 2187W had completed the hearing of evidence before the outbreak of war; whether its work was interrupted by the War before its final Report was presented; and whether he will take steps to set up the same or a similar Committee to complete this work?
§ Sir A. MONDThe answer to the first part is in the negative, and to the second in the affirmative. In response to a question asked on the 8th March, 1920, I informed the hon. and gallant Member for Kincardine and Western that the evidence given before the Committee in question would be considered in connection with the investigations for the improvement of the ventilation of the House which are being made by my officers and the officials of the National Physical Laboratory. When I receive their report, I shall be in a position to consider whether it will be desirable to reconstitute the Committee.
