Mr. DOYLEasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the refusal of the Hexham Board of Guardians to grant the Civil Service scale of bonus to their relieving officers or to submit the question to arbitration after being repeatedly urged to do so by the Ministers of Health and Labour, he is prepared to take steps to cause the grant of £1,192 per annum, which the guardians of the Hexham Union receive under the provisions of the Local Government Act, 1888, towards the cost of officers, to be withheld until such time as the guardians accede to the request of the Ministry?
