HC Deb 01 March 1921 vol 138 c1647W
Mr. HIRST

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the export of willows from Holland to this country is prohibited, whilst at the same time a large export of basket and wicker-work from that country to this is being carried on; and whether, in the interests of the industry in this country, he will make representations to the Dutch authorities regarding the embargo upon the export of willows?

Sir P. LLOYD-GREAME

The prohibition of the exportation of willow wood, including peeled or unpeeled osier twig and osier rods, from the Netherlands was withdrawn by an Order of the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, which came into force on 2nd February.
