HC Deb 01 March 1921 vol 138 c1621W
Mr. SWAN

asked the Chief Secretary whether Dingle peninsula and parts of West Kerry have been completely cut off by the forces of the Crown from communication with the rest of Ireland; and, if so, what steps he has taken to see that the non-combatant inhabitants of the country are supplied with food?

Mr. HENRY

It is not true to say that Dingle Peninsula and parts of West Kerry have been cut off by the Crown Forces from communication with the East of Ireland as far as the supply of food is concerned. This district is mainly agricultural and pastoral, and its isolation would not, therefore, be likely to result in any food shortage, but, in any case, I am informed that there has been no embargo on the importation of foodstuffs.
