§ Mr. BETTERTONasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the present state of public business, the importance of the issues involved in the Bills now before Parliament, of the fact that all-night sittings are not conducive to careful legislation, and of the uncertainties of the industrial situation, he will consider whether it is in the public interest that this House should adjourn at the beginning of August and meet again at the beginning of November?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINWe have considered this suggestion, but we do not think that this course would be in the public interest.
