HC Deb 21 June 1921 vol 143 c1117W
Mr. LYLE

asked the Secretary of State for India if he is aware of the disturbing rumours current with regard to the outlook in India during the next six months; and whether the Government is taking all precautions for the safety of isolated Europeans?

Mr. MONTAGU

I have no reason to suppose that the Government of India are under any special apprehensions regarding the outlook during the next six months. The latest information at my disposal is that the situation in India is improving. The Indian Governments may be relied upon to take any action necessary for the preservation of order.
