HC Deb 15 June 1921 vol 143 cc429-30W
Mr. GLANVILLE

asked the Prime Minister if effect will be given to the Resolution passed in another place on the 17th November last, calling for such reductions of Government staffs as are necessary to make it possible to remove by 30th June all buildings erected on places to which the public have access?

Mr. YOUNG

With regard to the reduction of Government staffs, I beg to refer the hon. Member to the reply given yesterday to the hon. and gallant Member for Hulme (Lieut.-Colonel Nall). Every effort is being and will be made to vacate at the earliest possible moment the buildings referred to by the hon. Member.

Mr. MOSLEY

asked the hon. Member for the Pollok Division of Glasgow, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, when the Government huts in the Embankment Gardens will be removed, and the gardens restored to their original uses?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The First Commissioner is arranging for the vacation of the huts in the Embankment Gardens in sufficient time to enable the gardens to be restored to their original use by next summer.
