asked the Minister of Transport (1) if any provision is being made for the representation on the Central and National Boards in connection with railways of the supervisory grades, workshop section, supervising men who are in receipt of the 12½ per cent. given to the engineering and foundry trades;

(2) what arrangement has been or will be made for the representation on the Central and National Boards of foremen, 12½ per cent. section, who have been placed, as a result of the recent revision, in the conciliation section by the railway companies; and who are mainly responsible for the supervision of men in the conciliation grades in the running sheds?

I can only refer my hon. Friend to the terms of Part IV of the Bill. As at present advised, the Government do not intend to propose any Amendment to give effect to my hon. Friend's suggestion.
