HC Deb 25 February 1921 vol 138 c1308W
Colonel Sir A. H0LBR00K

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is proposed to introduce the Fishery Bill which was promised in the King's Speech last year; and whether he is aware that the Report of the Sub-Committee of the Development Commission clearly indicates that without speedy legislation salmon fisheries are doomed?

Sir R. SANDERS

In reply to the first part of the question I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in this House last night. With regard to the second part of the question, the report referred to clearly indicates the need for further legislation and it is because we recognise that need that we have caused to be prepared the Bill which is now under consideration.
