Sir J. D. REESasked the President of the Board of Education how many ex-officers are now being educated at British universities at the expanse of the taxpayer; and when this expenditure will cease?
§ Mr. FISHERThe number of ex-service officers and men who are now in receipt of grants under the scheme administered by the Board of Education is 18,344. I anticipate that the expenditure under this scheme will almost entirely cease in the financial year 1925–6.
