HC Deb 21 February 1921 vol 138 cc600-1W
Mr. FINNEY

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the pressing needs of workmen who are suffering from injuries received in the course of their employment, and the needs of the dependants of workmen fatally injured in the course of their employment to increased compensation to meet the high cost of living and necessary standards of health; and whether, in view of the urgency of the matters involved, it is the intention of the Government to bring in a Bill this Session to amend the Workmen's Compensation Act, in accordance with the minutes of evidence given before the Departmental Committee appointed to inquire into the system of compensation for injuries to workmen and the reports of the Holman-Gregory Committee respecting the same?

Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPS0N

asked the Home Secretary whether it is intended to introduce a new Workmen's Compensation Act this Session?

Sir J. BAIRD

I would refer the hon. Members to the reply given last Thursday to the question on this subject asked by the hon. Member for the Normanton Division (Mr. F. Hall).
