HC Deb 21 February 1921 vol 138 c587W
Mr. WATERSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give the personnel of the Advisory Licensing Committee appointed under the Dyestuffs (Import Regulation) Act, 1920; whether the appointments have been made on a representative basis; and whether the House will be supplied from time to time with lists of the firms to whom licences have been granted under the Act?

Sir P. LLOYD-GREAME

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the announcement as to the constitution of the Advisory Licensing Committee, which appeared in the "Board of Trade Journal" and the public Press on the 17th January, a copy of which I am sending to him. The Committee is constituted on the lines which I indicated in the course of Debates during the passage of the Act. As regards the last part of the question, I do not think any useful purpose would be served by publishing such a list, but information as to the quantities of dyestuffs and other products licensed under the Act will be published periodically.
