HC Deb 21 February 1921 vol 138 cc592-3W
Mr. RAPER

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether, on the Allied occupation of Constantinople, the British military authorities seized any stocks of merchandise or produce belonging to the Turkish Government or to the committee of the Young Turkey party; if so, what was the nature, quantity, and value of the goods seized; and how were these goods disposed of, how much did they realise, and what has been done with the proceeds?

Sir A. WILLIAMSON

I have been asked to reply. Nothing is known in the War Office of the statements contained in the hon. Member's question. I have called for a report from the military authorities in Constantinople, and will let the hon. Member know the result as soon as it is received.
