HC Deb 21 February 1921 vol 138 c572W
Mr. HAYDAY

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether representations have been made to his department relative to the tenure of allotment holders at Burlington Lane, Chiswick; whether inquiry has been made into this case and, if so, what is the result; and whether he will take steps to secure that the allotment holders will not be removed until plans for building have been approved, building material is available, and building can immediately commence, in accordance with the Ministry's general instructions in such cases?

Sir R. SANDERS

I presume that the land referred to by the hon. Member is that belonging to the Middlesex Education Committee on which it is proposed to build a secondary school. Notices terminating the tenancy of the plot holders were given last November, but the question of building the school has since been reconsidered by the County Education Committee, and I am informed that the urban district council is now proposing to offer the allotment holders an extension of twelve months on certain conditions.
