HC Deb 17 February 1921 vol 138 cc311-2W
Sir H. HOPE

asked the Secretary for Scotland when the allocation of the additional grant of £400,000, available for education in Scotland in the present financial year, will be made and intimated to the education authorities in order that the parishes to participate in it may be informed at the earliest possible date of the revised amount which they are to raise by assessment?

Mr. MUNRO

As I explained to the Scottish Members when I had the privilege of addressing them on 10th November last, the £400,000 referred to in my hon. Friend's question will form part of the grant which is being distributed in terms of the Department's minute of. 30th June, 1920. No separate allocation, therefore, is necessary. As soon as the necessary data for the calculation of the grant are available, intimation of the revised grant will be made to each authority —probably in April.
