HC Deb 17 February 1921 vol 138 cc300-1W
Mr. G. BALFOUR

asked the Prime Minister whether he will introduce legislation conferring reciprocal advantages on citizens of the Argentine Republic entering this country to those conferred on British subjects entering the Argentine Republic, namely, compulsory vaccination, compulsory certificate as to sanity, countersigned by the chief department of police, certificate of immunity from con- viction in any police court for five years prior to entry, and compulsory record of finger prints?

Sir J. BAIRD

The Prime Minister has asked me to reply to this question. I presume the hon. Member refers to the restrictions which have been placed by the Argentine Government on aliens entering their country. His Majesty's Government see no reason for the introduction of similar provisions in regard to the admission of Argentine citizens into the United Kingdom. The matter is already sufficiently provided for by the Aliens Restriction Acts and the Aliens Order, 1920.
