HC Deb 15 February 1921 vol 138 cc10-1W
Sir P. PILDITCH

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the Metropolitan Water Board is endeavouring to force the small and scattered community of Sunbury-on-Thames to replace the existing water plugs, which are sound and effective for their purpose, by hydrants at an estimated cost of £1,400 or 1d. rate for this small matter alone; and if he will take steps to restrain the Water Board in this and other cases from forcing, in the present financial circumstances, unnecessary expenditure of this kind?

Dr. ADDISON

I am having inquiries made into this matter, and will communicate with my hon. Friend.
