asked the Secretary for Mines the amount of exported British coal in the last six weeks, week by week, as compared with the totals in the corresponding periods in 1920?

The amount of exported British coal since the beginning of March last was approximately as follows: 1st to 7th March, 402,200 tons; 8th to 14th March, 475,200 tons; 15th to 21st March, 492,200 tons; 22nd to 31st March, 598,500 tons, and 1st to 7th April, 91,300 tons. During the second week of April no British coal was exported. In the year 1920 the corresponding totals were: 606,100 tons; 441,200 tons; 593,600 tons 765,200 tons in March, and 332,800 tons and 367,000 tons during the first and second weeks of April, respectively. It will be noticed that the fourth period in March covers 10 days in each year.
