Lieut.-Commander YOUNGThe total number of employçs, including manipulative employçs and certain industrial employçs, who are paid from the Exchequer, and receive salaries or wages plus Civil Service bonus, is estimated to be at present about 295,000; the aggregate of their basic salaries or wages is estimated to amount to £36,000,000 a year, approximately, and the aggregate of bonus, at the rate at present in force,2092W which will be subject to revision on the 1st September next, to £45,000,000 a year, approximately.
