§ Mr. GRUNDYasked the Minister of Health whether any restrictions are placed on local authorities as to the number of meals that may be given each day to cases of necessitous children attending schools; the number of meals that are allowed to be given per day; and whether these meals are allowed to be given during week-ends and while the school is in recess?
§ Mr. FISHERI have been asked to reply to this question. I would refer the hon. Member to the Education (Provision of Meals) Acts, 1906 and 1914, which I have no authority to interpret; but the Act of 1914 expressly provides that meals may be given, both on days when the school meets and on other days.
