THOMASasked the Secretary for Mines what were the net profits and paid Up capital of each coal mine or group 1896W of coal mines under the same management for each of the five years preceding the control by the Government and for each year during Government control; and what, if any, profit it is anticipated the terms at present offered to the miners will leave to each mine or group of mines?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI regret that the information desired by my hon. Friend cannot be given, as it would conflict with the statutory obligations of secrecy imposed upon the Mines Department to divulge particulars of the profits and capital of individual undertakings.
