Sir J. D. REESasked the Secretary of State for India whether the possession of Bolshevik gold, in like manner with the possession of rouble notes, is illegal in India under the operation of Act XXX. of 1920?
§ Mr. MONTAGUThe Act does not affect the possession of Bolshevik gold. I assume my hon. Friend to refer to gold obtained by the present Russian Govern ment from its predecessor or private institutions in Russia. There is, I understand, no prohibition on the importation of gold from Russia into this country.
