HC Deb 11 April 1921 vol 140 c757W
Mr. BETTERTON

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the widespread demand for a Sunday delivery of letters at Carlton and Netherfield; whether he is aware that the lack of these facilities is causing inconvenience and loss in the district; and will he take steps to rectify the matter?

Mr. PEASE

I have received requests for a Sunday delivery of letters at Carlton and Netherfield. There is no suitable train by which the mails could be conveyed on Sundays, and I should not be justified in incurring expense for the purpose of providing a service by road.
