HC Deb 07 April 1921 vol 140 cc466-7W
Sir J. D. REES

asked the Prime Minister what has been the result of the consideration of the Mandate for Mesopotamia by the Council of the League of Nations; and whether the acquiescence of this international body in the terms of the draft will leave the British nation, which is to find the necessary funds, equally free to introduce or to abstain from introducing any or all reforms which will add to the British national expenditure?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Council of the League is to consider the draft Mandate for Mesopotamia at its next meeting, which will proably be held early in June. As regards the latter part of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the several questions and answers arising out of the reply to the question asked by the hon. Member for South Battersea (Viscount Curzon) on the 24th March.
