§ Lieut.-Colonel AMERYYes, Sir. During the period from the date of the imposition of the duty to the 31st of July last, duties amounting to £21,898 7s. 3d. were collected in Nigeria and duties amounting to £1,829 3s. 9d. in the Gold Coast. No duties were collected in Sierra Leone or the Gambia, as there were no shipments from these colonies to foreign destinations.
