§ Dr. ADDISONThe figures for the particular months referred to are not available, but the average annual cost per person in receipt of relief (other than relief in a lunatic asylum) in England and Wales was in the year ended March, 1915, £8 5s. 5¾d. in the case of domiciliary relief, and £36 4s. 10d. in the case of institutional relief. The corresponding figures for the year ended March, 1919, were £13 4s. 11d. and £58 12s. 5d. It is anticipated that the figures for the current year will show a considerable increase.
