HC Deb 30 November 1920 vol 135 c1151W
Mr. MILLS

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that Mr. McLaine, whose films and books were confiscated on 26th August last, sent the revised headings suggested by Sir Basil Thomson on 20th October, but has not yet received the films or the bound volumes retained by the police on the same date; and will he expedite their return?

Mr. SHORTT

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on the 23rd November. Mr. McLaine has only to pay the duty on the film and he will receive it. He was informed that the bound volumes of the "Communiste Internationale" could not be returned. I am advised that they contain matter which contravenes the law.
