Major HENDERSONasked the Secretary of State for War whether ex-soldier clerks taken on to War Office establishment since August, 1914, will be considered for pensionable establishment, provided they fulfil the qualifying conditions laid down for those ex-soldier clerks with pre-war service?
§ Sir A. WILLIAMSONNo decision has yet been reached as to the size of the future pensionable establishment of ex-soldier clerks in the War Office, nor as to the method of selection for vacancies, whether by open or limited examination or otherwise. As at present arranged, the establishment will not exceed the pre-war figures, namely, a total of 257—which number, of course, includes those men who have already been established.
