BUTCHERasked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to many expressions of opinion by County Court Judges of experience to the effect that the Rent Restrictions Amendment Act, 1920, is productive of great hardship, and is in many respects unworkable; and whether he will appoint a Committee of County Court Judges and other persons specially familiar with the 947W subject to inquire into and report on the working of the Act, and the directions in which Amendments should be made?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe Act was passed less than five months ago, and I do not think there would be any advantage in an inquiry such as my hon. Friend suggests at the present time.
