HC Deb 29 November 1920 vol 135 c953W
Mr. W. CARTER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the nature of the campaigns recently undertaken by the French and Spanish Governments in Morocco: whether the situation has been reported to the League of Nations.; whether any British interests are involved in Morocco; and, if so, what is their nature and extent?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

The object of these campaigns is presumably the pacification of Morocco. I have no knowledge of any report on the subject to the League of Nations. British commercial interests in Morocco are extensive and can only be benefited by the extension of orderly conditions to all parts of the country.
