HC Deb 25 November 1920 vol 135 c675W
Lieut.-Colonel HURST

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction among teachers with the unrepresentative constitution of the Burn-ham Committee and the effects of its Report; and whether an opportunity will be given to discuss the policy of the Board of Education in relation to this and other questions?

Mr. H. LEWIS

I have been asked to reply to this question. I am not aware that teachers in public elementary schools or in secondary schools are generally dissatisfied with the constitution of either of the joint committees which have sat under Lord Burnham as chairman, though certain associations of teachers have complained that they are not represented on the Teachers' Panel. So far as the Board are concerned they would welcome any discussion of their policy of which the time of the House permits.
