HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 c461W
Major BIRCHALL

asked the President of the Board of Trade what are the latest returns of imports into this country of Belgian wire hobnails and boot studs; whether considerable unemployment is being caused by such importation; and, if so, whether these articles will be included in the Anti-Dumping Bill?

Sir P. LLOYD-GREAME

I am afraid that the classification adopted for the purpose of the Official Trade Statistics is not sufficiently detailed to enable me to furnish my hon. and gallant Friend with the particulars he desires, but representations have been made to me that employment in this trade has been affected by foreign competition. As regards the last part of the question, I would refer him to the reply I gave on 17th November to the hon. Member for South Nottingham (Lord H. Cavendish-Bentinck).
