HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 cc457-8W
Major MALONE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether the sanction of his Department has been given to the increase in wages granted to the junior postal supervising staff and accepted by them on 10th July, 1920?

Mr. BALDWIN

I assume the hon. and gallant Member refers to the scales of pay of head postmen, assistant head postmen, and head porters in the London Postal Service, which were the subject of discussion between the Post Office and the Junior Postal Supervising Officers' Association in July last. Treasury sanction has been given to improved scales of pay for these classes with retrospective effect from the 1st January last.
