HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 c458W
Sir MARTIN CONWAY

asked the Postmaster-General whether the approval of Parliament will be obtained before the rates for international postage are altered?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

Under Section 2 (1) of the Post Office Act, 1908, the Treasury is empowered to fix rates of international postage by warrant, and the previous approval of Parliament is not required.
