HC Deb 22 November 1920 vol 135 c65W
Mr. W. GRAHAM

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he has now received a unanimous request from the Committee on Fiars Prices of the Church of Scotland to the effect that the Bill dealing with teinds and stipends of ministers of the Church should be submitted to the Church for consideration before further steps are taken; and whether, in view of the important character of this suggestion, it is now proposed to proceed with the Second Reading of this Bill?

Mr. MUNRO

The resolution of the Committee on Fiars Prices which has been communicated to me requests that the Teind Bill should be submitted to the General Assembly or its Commission before Second reading is taken. The Bill is now available for consideration, and a reasonable period will be allowed to elapse before Second reading is taken. This, I think, should afford sufficient opportunity for the consideration desired by the Fiars Prices Committee, with whom I am in communication.
