HC Deb 22 November 1920 vol 135 c66W
Mr. HAYDAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the vest oil resources in Russia; and whether, in view of the present activities of the oil trusts and combines, he will consider the advisability of opening the door to the importation of Russian supplies in order to produce healthy competition in the oil markets?

Mr. KELLAWAY

I am aware that Russia has considerable oil resources. Prior to the occupation of South Russia by the Bolsheviks, moderate quantities were being exported. This export was stopped by the Bolshevik Government, and its resumption is a part of the general question of trade between this, country and Russia.
