§ Mr. GOULDasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that foreign countries, some of whom were our former allies, are imposing as a source of revenue to their Exchequers taxes of export on commodities shipped to this 69W country, such as timber and pit-wood, which are needed in our key industries, and which tax so levied will increase costs of production in this country, he will take steps to counteract such activities by levying taxes on our exports by demanding from these Governments a sum producing a corresponding amount to the British Exchequer?
